Story.

---

From the reports we've gotten, many of the injured will not survive the next few days because of the lack of medical facilities in the city. There are a couple hospitals, but they're very ill-equipped and short staffed.

How can you possibly handle that - handle being there and seeing that all the time? I would never be able to do that ever.

These people that are dying are they other Iraqi's? Do people take responsiblities for the car bombings at all?

Really wish I could give you a hug. I know I would need it after all of that.

Yes, they are Iraqis. The majority of the people doing these attacks are from outside Iraq who oppose the new government and the hand America had in it. They shoot and bomb Iraqis (along with us) as their way to protest it.

Honestly, what are they trying to accomplish? I just don't get it. How do you become the kind of person who says, "Hey, you know what I'm going to do today? I'm going to go BLOW THE SHIT OUT OF A BUNCH OF PEOPLE!"?

I dunno, maybe if you get blown up enough times you see the horrible error of your ways.

I know there's nothing like seeing the mangled bodies of my friends and loved ones to get me to agree with someone.

What's sad is I look at some of those and think "wow, they were lucky" to look like they died relatively quickly. And others must have suffered ~a lot~ before either getting transported away, or dying. What's interesting to note, is that in talking to some people, when you say "x number of people injured", most people don't think of scenes like this. Scrapes, bruises, lacerations, yes. Missing arms, legs, hands, feet... Doesn't seem to come into the mental image.
