That-a way | This-a way

For those of you who asked, there aren't many pictures of me because I like taking the pictures myself, and it's hard to get me-pictures taken by me.

Anywho, here we go:

We just got our combat patch for being down here. I forgot to move that chair out of the way of the timed camera. My bad.

You have the right to remain silent...

He is a very special little boy.

Meet my kleptomaniac first sergeant. That isn't his bag of chips. That isn't his chair. I don't even think that's his pistol strapped to his leg.

Here, he needed body armor for a reenlistment ceremony, couldn't find his, and just grabbed someone's armor - who isn't even in our battery! Note the different rank on the helmet and chest, and different names.

The original pictures of Legacy on his guitar I had taken, lost, then just found.

He really really had to go.

Hot in the morning...

Hot in the evening... in the shade...

And finally, some weapons captured a while ago. Shiny!

You got certificates for putting your life on the line for fighting terrorism?

Are you aiming at me, soldier?
So, you don't have to shoot left-handed any more?
Jun. 17th, 2004 04:53 pm (UTC)
They give certificates for everything.
Jun. 20th, 2004 09:26 am (UTC)
No, that's just the Air Force. The Army only gives out awards for just about everything. ;)

congrats on the combat patch :D

so wait... you only get one patch? what does it go on? do you get multiple patches to put on different uniforms (dress, bdus)? do you get just the patch, or do you get one of those pins too?
Jun. 20th, 2004 09:55 am (UTC)
Well, for starters, you have a patch for your division on your left shoulder. That's your unit patch. For me it's First Infantry Division, the one I'm holding there. When you go to a combat zone, you get a combat patch for the division you went with, and that goes on your right shoulder, above the American flag patch. If you earn more than one combat patch, you're allowed to pick which one you wear, basically picking your favorite unit.

You wear the same patch on all your uniforms. Since this division is retarded, we're only allowed to wear the green BDU patch on our tan DCUs, not the tan patch to match (har har I rhymed). We also get a medal/ribbon for being deployed, which goes only on our dress uniforms.

thank you for clearing that all up for me. you're my hero :D
