Australian artist James Corbett began sculpting old car parts in 1999 while managing a car recycling business in Brisbane. Eighteen months later, he closed the shop and turned pro. Corbett never bends the parts, but uses the existing shapes to create (comparatively) realistic forms. Gallery at the link.

Simon Seeks has compiled a list of the most dangerous roads in the world. Many feature rock slide hazards, hair pin turns, steep cliffs and no guard rails. Still, it’s amazing just how beautiful some of these deadly roads are –often because the views from these places are unbelievable.

As you can see, the footage reveals filthy conditions, sick and injured hens, and birds forced to live in cages with the decomposing corpses of other hens.
Each hen laying eggs for IHOP is confined in a battery cage about the size of a file drawer that contains several birds — giving each animal less space than a sheet of paper on which to spend her entire life.
Hard to imagine a more miserable existence.
Major restaurant chains like Denny's, Burger King and Wendy's are already beginning to switch their eggs to cage-free, but IHOP is refusing to take this modest step.
Please call them at (866) 444-5144 and politely urge them to follow their competitors' lead and move away from battery cage eggs. You can also send them a message here.

If you've been reading Geekologie for over a year (gold star reader!) you may recall the story we ran about Lamborghini donating two Gallardo's to the Italian police for use in high-speed chases involving other supercars. Well, if you couldn't tell by the picture, one of them isn't doing so hot.
The 200mph Gallardo ploughed into parked cars after it swerved to avoid another vehicle that had just pulled out of a petrol station. It was being driven back from a special show for students when the accident happened near the city of Cremona.
Two police officers in the car escaped with only minor injuries. No-one else was hurt in the crash.
Police also use the vehicles to ferry transplant organs in specially fitted fridges.
Hell yeah, transplant organs. Say -- any livers in that fridge? Kidding, I'm vegetarian!

RICHMOND, CA (KGO) -- The six young men accused of gang raping a girl outside the Richmond High School homecoming dance were all in court Tuesday morning.
All six suspects entered not guilty pleas to various sex related felony charges.
Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom. The defendants appeared in orange jump suits behind a bullet proof glass enclosed barrier. Their friends and relatives packed the courtroom. One person was ejected for trying to communicate with a defendant, otherwise there was no other disturbance.
